Centre Administration Branch

This Branch carries out the supervision of institutional and administrative affairs of the Cultural Centers.

Services rendered by the Branch

• Maintenance of the personal files of all the officers serving in Cultural Centres
• Salary maintenance
• Preparation of Salary increments
• Conducting the efficiency bar examinations
• Preparation of salary conversions
• Approving the Distress loans, Property loans and Festival advances
• Approving the leave inclusive of foreign leave
• Activities of Agrahara insurance coverage
• Payment of electricity bills
• Issuance of the letters of confirmation of service
• All the activities in respect of Pensions
• Preparation of Schemes of Recruitment and promotion
• Annual Transfers

Foreign Relation Branch

A responsibility of this Branch is to make popular and promote the Culture of Sri Lanka among the world community, directing the international cultural items for the appreciation of Sri Lankan community as well as promoting the international technical cooporation.

Number of Memoranda of Understanding entered into by this Ministry by now is 49. Number of auto updating agreements out of the same is 40. Number of agreements to be renewed is 09 and number of proposed agreements is 18. The local and foreign Cultural exchanging programmes are implemented in terms of the Agreements signed. Main functions of the Foreign Cultural Relation Branch are as follows.

• Organizing and liaison of foreign tours of the Hon. Minister and the Deputy Minister
• Exchanging the Cultural Groups with overseas.
• Exchanging of the experts in the tangible and intangible cultural field
• Assisting in holding foreign cultural shows and ceremonies in Sri Lanka.
• Taking action in respect of improving inter relations with the countries which have signed cultural agreements and taking action regarding entering into new agreements
• Liaison of Programmes manipulated by the International organizations such as UNESCO, SAARC, BIMSTEC and ICCROM
• Taking action to liaise in respect of making the officers and Sri Lankan missions, when required, participate for international meetings, conferences, workshops etc.
• Coordinating affairs on international cultural competitions
• Organizing and liaison of cultural groups, training programmes and shows with the countries where agreements are in active status at present

This Branch carries out the functions of taking relevant action to improve the interrelations with countries which have signed the cultural agreements in addition to the aforesaid affairs and taking action related to entering into new agreements. Memoranda of Understanding have been signed with the following countries.
