Functions

The Main function of this organization is to preview both the locally produced and imported films, plays, dramatic performances and other public shows and certify as to their suitability wise for public exhibition.

Main Functions -:

  Films that have been completed and prepared for public viewing are monitored for their quality by a board or a certifying authority consisting of sixteen members prior to release them for display and are certified as suitable for public viewing. Films witch get the green light of the board is classified as follows.

                                                                                      I. For unrestricted public performance -  U

                     II. More suitable for adults                   -  A

                     III' Adults only                                      -  X                                                 

Scripts of stage dramas to be staged are scrutinized to monitor their quality for public viewing while issuing instructions on alterations, if necessary.

To issue permits for shows and pageants other than films or dramas.

To view and grant approval for films and dramas stored on DVDs, CDs and VHS s.

To grant approval for posters and cutouts to be exhibited.
