Objectives :-    The overall goal of the development of the new Sigiriya Museum is to establish a deeper understanding of the cultural, historical value of Sigiriya ( for both domestic and international visitors), increasing the number of visitors and promoting the local standard of living by stimulating the local economy without doing any harm to the natural environment through construction of building complex and install display facilities in order to make aware to general public. .

Description of the Project  :-

Sigiriya has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982. Sigiriya is a major attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists, welcoming approximately 600,000 visitors per year including 70% of all foreigners that visit Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka considers the development of its cultural and tourism sectors as major objectives in its ten year Mahinda Chinthana plan which emphasize tourism and prioritizes the protection of archaeological sites. The project purpose is to supply equipments to increase the interest in Sigiriya and the understanding of its history by improving he interpretive display and presentation through the supply of equipment.
